Sparks in the Park

Independence Day was Saturday and with that comes Fireworks and Cooking out. There's just something about the 4th that you have to grill some good food. We didn't do to much this year b/c Brandon had to work so we had to stay close to Nashville. We had to go check cows Saturday before we went to Lolli & Pop's and of course we had to fix the gap on the creek because we had some cows get out and there's nothing better than having to walk in a nasty creek that the cows pee in and snakes reside in, in the heat o f the day. After we got all that done we went and ate some good hamburgers that Lolli had cooked for us and visited with them until it was time to head to the Fireworks show. We didn't even bother trying to go to the concert this year. I really didn't want to sit in a 100 degree temps and watch T Gram Brown are who ever they had this year. We usually have a good entertainer but not this year. The fireworks were good but they didn't seem to last as long this year or be as good of fireworks, they had a bunch of the lower whistler things that arn't pretty. But it was some good free family fun and we had fun watching them and watching Maddons reaction to them...he loved them as soon as the big boom went off he would point and laugh..So i hope everyone had a great 4th of July.

Family Time

Spending time together comes very rarely, so when Brandon was off Thursday and Friday this week it was nice to be able to get to spend time together. We knew that we may not have him the weekend since he is on call, and being a holiday weekend he's usually bound to get called out. So Thursday we just relaxed around the house and watched cartoons with the kids being that is so hot outside, and Then Friday we thought we should take them to the water park in Murfreesboro at the Diamond Mind to swim. So we all loaded up and went to swim for a few hours there, We did not even attempt to dig for diamond's with a heat index of 110 I was not standing in an open field and digging in the dirt. We will save that trip for winter or fall months when its a lot cooler. The kids had a blast and when we decided to leave they were still wanting to swim so we came home and let them swim in the Pool Lolli got Maddox for his birthday and they swam till dark. Needless to say they went to bed easy last night. I did try and get a few pics but of course Maddox never wants to take pictures and Maddon is always to busy and on the move so i just got a few shots in.

while the kids were swimming i chased maddon around the yard and tried to get some new pictures of him, i didn't get to many as he was running from me but i did get a few.
